Our Practices

Corio Law was founded by Jamie T. Corio in East Hampton in 2005. With a focus on residential and commercial real estate markets, we have represented buyers, sellers, landlords, lessees, and developers in hundreds of transactions totaling nearly half a billion dollars. The firm’s practice also includes land use, business formation and development, litigation and trusts and estates matters.

We approach each client with respect and professionalism. Our mutual success relies on our experience and ability to resolve unique issues effectively and efficiently. Integrity, honesty, and respect are foundational values of the firm that have forged productive relationships with clients, counterparts and adversaries alike in New York and the Hamptons for nearly 14 years.

Jamie T. Corio, born and raised in Woodstock, New York, obtained his B.A. from Fordham College in 1994 and his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 1999. For six years, he practiced as an associate at New York firms Wilson, Elser and Sedgwick, Detert, with a focus on commercial litigation, insurance and business matters. While at Sedgwick, Jamie was an integral part of the team that administered the recovery and repatriation of hundreds of safe deposit boxes that had been destroyed in the attacks of September 11.

Shortly after being married, Jamie moved to the Hamptons and served of counsel to Caleca & Towner, P.C. before opening his own practice in 2005. As the principal attorney, he remains the point of contact for the firm.

John Wren, Esq., of counsel to the firm since 2013, heads the estate planning portion of the firm’s practice, providing clients with additional expertise focusing on wills, trusts and estates, family planning and succession issues

The firm has represented hundreds of owners, buyers, lenders, builders, developers, brokers, contractors, landlords, lessees and interested third parties in virtually all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, with the value of closed deals exceeding four hundred million dollars since 2005.

In the Hamptons, the laws governing zoning, land use and planning are complex, constantly changing and often frustrating. We will work with you to successfully navigate the labyrinth, providing clarity and expediting the process.
